Darren Gough Testimonial Dinner
At the end of this season, after nearly 20 years at the top, Darren Gough will retire from first class cricket. And to make sure he goes out in style the club have decided to hold a retirement party to end all retirement parties! Not only will friends from YCCC and England join Goughie, but he will also welcome some familiar faces from Strictly Come Dancing.
Here's what we have planned:
On the evening of Monday 22nd September we will be taking-over Saviles Hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds to pay tribute to our departing skipper.
After the main arrival at 6.30pm, Goughie will introduce a montage of his career, specially produced by Sky Sports. Then, after a delicious 3-course dinner we will sit back and enjoy an exhibition of Salsa and Ballroom Dancing, featuring World Salsa Champions, Chris and Jackie Marques. Towards the end of the show, a certain Mr. Darren Gough will be invited to take the floor, where he will perform one last dance with a VERY special guest!
After a short break, Goughie will be joined on stage by some of of his ex-colleagues from YCCC and England to chat about his time on the pitch. We can't mention any names but Darren assures us that he'll be pulling out all the stops when it comes to his guests.
At about 10.30pm we'll let Goughie relax for while, as we sit back and listen to Freddy Gardener, one of the world's top Frank Sinatra impersonators. And then it will be your turn, as we all take to the dance floor and dance until (at least!) 1am.
At £995 (plus VAT) for a table of 10, this is a truly unique opportunity to pay tribute to a living legend
