RAI are doing what we can to make sure the demands we place on the environment can be met without affecting the environment’s ability to provide for future generations and here is just one of the initiatives we have implemented.
By sourcing local foods from local farmers we are reducing the distance food has to be transported and therefore lowering our carbon footprint whilst increasing the quality and freshness of what we buy…and it helps with the local economy as Yorkshire suppliers are being given a fairer price for their produce... It also means that foods are usually grown organically and are at the prime of ripeness, fresh from the soil and packed with lots of goodness...We also purchase fair trade tea & coffee. |
